Musicians always welcome! No auditions.

 

Monash Concert Band rehearses Thursday evenings 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm.

 

The rehearsal venue is Ashwood Hall at 21a Electra Avenue, Ashwood. (view the venue on a map on the contact us page).

 

The variety of music rehearsed and performed by the Monash Concert Band includes music from the big band era, show tunes and musical productions, vocal charts and typical concert band repertoire. These include classical and traditional arrangements and a specific focus on contemporary concert band pieces by new and upcoming arrangers and composers from around the world.

 

For major concert performances, we explore a large variety of music and performance approaches. Our annual cabaret includes your 'standard' band favorites mixed with a bit of trivia!

 

We invite players at all levels to come and try us out. Join us for a rehearsal to see if we are the band for you. We particularly have vacancies for the following instruments:

• All brass, particularly low brass and French horns

• Clarinets

• Percussion

Sadly, we have no vacancies at the moment for flutes or saxophones.
